Hiring Tip - Review Employee Forms and Documents

Looking to make some quick changes that will benefit you for the next 12 months?

Look no further than the documents and forms that currently drive your hiring process.

Completing an annual review and update of your hiring forms and documents is best done in December, but the next best time is now. Here a six items that may need your attention:

  • Company Policies

One of the most important documents in the onboarding process, ensure that updated policy documents are sent to both new and current employees for review and signature.

  • Benefits

Ensure that all benefits are accurate based on annual updates. Significant additions or removals are easy to account for, but also focus on small changes to the details of existing benefits.

  • Training Videos

Company processes, policies, and compliance requirements often change. Make sure your videos reflect those changes and that updated content is sent to both new and existing employees.

  • Employment Application

When is the last time you’ve taken a long look at your job application? Consider whether each question is really necessary for an initial screening, then remove unnecessary questions.

  • Offer Letter

What new benefits or perks have you added that you want to highlight in this letter? Which ones have you removed?

  • Welcome Letter

In addition to the questions asked in #5, consider whether changes to leadership and management will require updates.

  • Org Charts

This is an annual update, but could also be an ongoing update. As new employees begin or existing employees exit, it’s important to update the company org chart with changes to titles, contact information, and hierarchy.
